Chapter 16                                           Print

Prepare ye the way of the Lord

I used to wonder why there was such a fuss made of John the Baptist.  Someone who dressed in sackcloth ate locusts and honey, preached of repentance, and baptised people seemed like an odd person to be of value to a society.  Yet people did value him and thousands went out to see him, hear him speak, and to be baptised by him. John the Baptist said that someone would come after him whose shoes he was unworthy to unlatch, and when Jesus Christ the Son of God came along he indicated that Jesus was that man.

John the Baptist's time in the desert was a time of purification of his body and soul, and in that purified state he clearly saw the coming of Jesus Christ the Son of God into the world. The people needed to be purified to come before the heavenly gift of God in his son Jesus Christ; and John the Baptist resolved to bring people into a right relationship with God. John came with a quick way to redemption of the people, to prepare the way of the Lord. He told them to repent by confessing their sins and he baptised them in significance of their cleansing.

Standing before God with a multitude of our past sins showing on our body is pretty normal for us. Every past sin leaves a marker on our body, and it is also a direction for evil to come in and infect us again.  To come before God, the Holiest of Holies, the King of Kings, the Almighty God (to name but a few of his names) with sin attached to and in our body, and pathways into our body for sin to enter, is like coming before your parent with a snotty nose and covered in mud.  Your parent has every right to say "I love you anyway dear but go and clean yourself up before I hug you and kiss you."

We are lucky.  Even in our sinful state God loves us, and he will heal us if we ask it of Him.

Psalm 22:24 "For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard."

However when we know that we are coming before God to ask for healing of ourselves and our lives, we would do well to heed that Baptist cry and repent of our sins, and come and be washed clean of our sinful past. If we are adults with access to our own free will, then God expects us to behave like adults and use our own free will to choose to be spiritually cleansed, and then ask for healing through God Almighty.  God will not force His will for us to be spiritually cleansed upon us. As adults it is necessary for us to choose to not be afflicted by spiritual muck that can cause us physical and mental harm.

We come before God and ask to be made clean of our spiritual muck that we have accumulated in our life. John the Baptist told people to repent of their sins, and that is what we have to do.  Past sins are to be put behind us and the pathways to them forgotten.  John the Baptist then baptised people in water to signify the washing away of all of their sins and the purity of their new nature.

We are baptised when we are babies to wash away the sin of Adam and claim us for God through Jesus Christ.  Most of us are not baptised as adults.  In most religious organizations we do not use baptism as John the Baptist did, but never-the-less we do need to be cleansed and to wash away the accumulated spiritual muck that has stuck to us from our past actions.   It is not as simple as having a good bath we need to cleanse deeper than that.

Chapter 4 has the redemption exercise.  It is repeated here for your convenience.  Before coming before God to be spiritually cleansed and healed of any illness including the sickness of Cancer, or Pain or AIDS, consider "preparing the way of the Lord" by cleansing your body of all those little inroads into your body.  As I have said before, past sins leave markers for demons to enter again and that is probably true of demons that cause Cancer, AIDS, or Pain to name a few diseases.  The format for redemption in this book is very private; it is between you and God.

Sins that we have committed are easy to find and enumerate, it is the sin of worshipping other gods that are less easily discerned.  God Almighty has many names and all of them are good.  However, there are some demonic names that we worship, like greed, avarice, hate, verbal abuse, physical abuse...etc and there are even some religions or organizations that will worship a name that is not God Almighty, or will pledge allegiance through a name of a being/fallen-angel/demon that is in fact working for the devil. It is the act of doing these actions that is the worshipping of these demons as other gods.  It is the sin of worshipping other gods that is the greater sin because it is the breaking of the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17).

Exod.20 the Ten Commandments

[
1] And God spake all these words, saying,
[
2] I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
[3] Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
[4] Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
[5] Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them:
for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
[
6] And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
[
7] Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
[
8] Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
[
9] Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
[
10] But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
[
11] For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
[
12] Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
[
13] Thou shalt not kill.
[
14] Thou shalt not commit adultery.
[
15] Thou shalt not steal.
[
16] Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
[
17] Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

We in the western world have embraced many different ideologies that have in fact directed us to demon worship by our active adherence to the practices of the ideology. There is also fanaticism towards people, things or ideas which can be so intense that it becomes idolatry.  I am not talking about the ideologies that obviously lead us to God Almighty, but to physical actions that have a demonic direction.  Greed is a big one, and Avarice (greedy for the gain of money) is a massive problem for many people. A secret society, with secret rituals that direct you up the hierarchy, will usually be associated with demon or devil worship.  Most often, the people at the entrance level of a society with secret rituals do not know anything about who they worship.
First of all affirm yourself as a worshipper of God Almighty and that you are in the service of God Almighty. A prayer affirming that God Almighty is Lord of your life sets the scene for healing of body and soul.

Affirmation ("Submit yourself therefore to God.")

I worship the Lord God Almighty and Him only do I serve.  My body, in the service of God Almighty is blessed, and rejects all spiritual beings that are not doing the will of God Almighty.  I do not serve as housing or perpetuator of anything that is of the devil.  The devil and all that labour under him have no place in my body, or my life, or my work.  The God Almighty and Father of Jesus Christ the Son of God is my perfect God, and my body and life is in the service of God Almighty and Him only do I worship and serve. AMEN

When you are coming to God for healing consider it prudent to "prepare ye the way of the Lord."

If you feel that life has got the better of you some of the time and your past is a little murky, figure yourself to be like most of us and in need of the redemption gift of Jesus Christ the Son of God, (Jesus came to save us all - Thank God!)

The redemption exercise at the end of chapter 4 is repeated here for your convenience.

Salient features of redemption

1) Jesus was conceived by Mary through the Holy Spirit. (The Holy Spirit is at one with God.) From his conception and birth Jesus was the Son of God.

2) The sin of Adam is carried through the male line because God created the whole of Adam, so he should have been God wise. The woman, Eve, was made by God using a part of Adam before he had sinned.

3) At the birth of Jesus there was no sin of Adam in him because he was conceived through the Holy Spirit and not through a descendant of Adam the first man.

4) Jesus lived a sin free life.

5) Jesus died a sin free death.

6) Jesus Christ, as the Son of God, had lived his life on earth from birth to death without the devil's influence.  He did not accept anything of the devil into his body at any time in his life so that he could say "The Prince of this world cometh (the Devil),
and he hath nothing in me." (John 14:30)

7) When we see our own past sins and admit about them to God, and accept Jesus Christ the Son of God, into our heart, we have redemption through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, Jesus died as a sin offering for
our sins. (He had no sins of his own.)

8) The original Ten Commandments are God's law to keep mankind on the path of righteousness.  Jesus Christ the Son of God adhered to these laws in his life and so should we.

9) The most important commandment is to worship the Lord God Almighty and serve only Him.

10) Doing right in this world, that is living righteously, is important because the workers of iniquity do not inherit the kingdom of heaven. Matt 7:17-29, Luke 13:24-30.

11) To conclude:
i. Accept the redemption sacrifice of Jesus Christ the Son of God. This gets rid of the sins that we have committed in the past.

ii. Choose to be born again in Jesus Christ the Son of God, this gets rid of the sin of Adam that is born into all mankind.

iii. Follow the Ten Commandments, serving God Almighty only and doing the right thing in righteousness prevents us from sinning and working iniquity in our daily life.

iv. This is a new born again life  in Jesus Christ the Son of God, and it is a most gracious gift that is free to us all when we ask Jesus Christ into our heart, and resolve to lead a new life following in the commandments of God.

Now we have got through the theory and we know that God and Jesus are there to accept us and redeem us, we have to jump over the first hurdle and get onto the path of righteousness.  No problem, just think about how to conduct life by doing the right thing in every step of the way (righteousness), and then step out and do it.  When you change your behaviour there is absolutely no doubt that demons of all kind will come out of the "woodwork" and bring up the past over and over again and try to change everything back to the old behaviour.  The way to vanquish these old demons is to ask God for help.  A good place to start is through confession and prayer to God Almighty or Jesus Christ the Son of God.  The problem with old sins is that while you are doing them evil spirits take up residence in the body, and they are still there when you do not do the sin any more.  It is like demons have tenure in the body because of past sins. Facing the past and confronting past actions that were sinful, and then confessing them to God and asking for forgiveness gets rid of the sin.  The evil spirits that associate with the sin then need to be eradicated.

Preparation

1) First of all work out when you have been in contact with evil spirits in your life.  Talk to God and say: "Dear God, Please show me any event or occasion that I was in contact with evil spirits." Make a list.

2) You are looking for where evil spirits have invaded you so it could  be a sin you have done yourself or even be a place or situation you were in before you were born, or in childhood.

3) Obviously our own sins go on the list, but this is not the only place that we are in contact with evil spirits. Evil spirits come at us from the outside and if we take an interest in them they take up residence. (TV; Internet; websites; media etc.)

4) Our contact with other people is not always spiritually healthy. Remember to look at your family interactions and interactions with friends.  Fornication has demons attached to it.

5) There are many places in our lives where we in fact dabble in black magic for example: Ouija board, pendulum. Fortune telling, Tarot cards, lifting the table party trick, Reiki, Creative visualization, (to name a few).

6) Witches covens are recruiting people on the internet and I can tell you now that evil spirits turn up if you click on the web site and the evil spirits will then need to be prayed out.  (Idle curiosity in this case can be lethal.)

7) If you read a book because you are curious about the devil, nasty evil spirits will probably turn up.

8) Other places where evil spirits turn up are not so obvious.  If you take Yoga very seriously and get into doing the stance of the demons, there is a chance that the demon will come and take up residence in you.

9) Every "book of Mormons" has demons prayed into them and if you open the book up the evil spirits turn up. The presence of the book gave me nightmares even with the book closed.

10) Reiki is using ancestors to bring healing.  Many Reiki practitioners in fact are Christian and they do not call on the ancestors, but some Reiki practitioners do.  (The Jewish people in the days of Jesus knew that a bigger demon can come along and replace a smaller demon in the person's body, so that one illness is healed but another demon comes in to probably make things worse.  The Reiki ancestors might in fact be big demons.)

11) Some organizations or rituals have connections to the devil that are often hidden from the casual visitor. Participation in the ritual could count as worshipping other gods. Talk to God Almighty about it. (Put it on the list.)

12)  We live in a demon afflicted world so work hard at finding even the hidden places that evil had afflicted your life, health, social interactions, environment, family. If you are not sure whether something you have done is a sin or not just put it on the list anyway, because the uncertainty will make it a problem to you.

Having found and made a list of all the places in the past that evil has had a stronghold on your life the next bit is confession and release.  Of course we say an affirmation of our relationship with God, put on the armour of God, and then we bind Satan.

The Armour of God
Dear God, my Heavenly Father, Please put the armour of God onto me according to your righteousness and love through Jesus Christ, to protect me from evil.  Let the devil, and all that labour under the devil, be as a thing of naught to my mind, body and soul.  Please protect me from evil beings so that they cannot do anything to my mind, body or soul. I am completely protected. Thank you God.  AMEN.

Affirmation

I worship the Lord God Almighty and Him only do I serve.  My body, in the service of God Almighty is blessed, and rejects all spiritual beings that are not doing the will of God Almighty. I do not serve as housing or perpetuator of anything that is of the devil. The devil and all that labour under him have no place in my body, or my life, or my work.  The God Almighty and Father of Jesus Christ the Son of God is my perfect God, and my body and life is in service of God Almighty and Him only do I worship and serve. AMEN.

Bind Satan  (Said with conviction)
In the name of God Almighty the Lord of Heaven and Earth.  In the name of God the Holy Spirit. In the victorious name of Jesus Christ the Son of God who overcame the world, who vanquished the devil and all that labour under him. Satan the Lord rebuke thee and bind thee by the power of the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ the Son of God, and cut off all of thy power. All in authority under the devil, the Lord rebuke thee and bind thee by the power of the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ the Son of God, and cut off all of thy power.  All that labour under the devil the Lord rebuke thee and bind thee by the power of the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ the Son of God and cut off all of thy power. All spiritual wickedness in high places and in low places, the Lord rebuke thee and bind thee by the power of the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ the Son of God, and cut off all of thy power. Amen

Method 1
Prayer of confession

Dear God my Heavenly Father. I come to you today with a lifetime of sins that I want to confess.  I ask for release from these sins as I remember them, and that you bind all evil spirits associated with them.  I confess these sins of my own and those I have been a party to by association even unwilling participation ... (say the list) and I renounce all these sins and every evil spirits associated with these sins.  Dear God please be with me as I cast out and send all of these bound evil spirits to await your final judgment. Thank you God. Amen.

Command to cast out evil spirits associated with sin

In the name of God Almighty the Lord of Heaven and Earth.  In the name of Jesus Christ the Son of God, who has overcome the world, who vanquished the devil, and all who labour under him. And in the name of God the Holy Spirit.  I command all demons, all evil entities, all beings that have an intimate relationship with the devil, all devils, all pets of the devil, fallen angels, poltergeists, ghosts, wraiths, unclean spirits, principalities, powers and rulers of darkness, demon armies, demon hordes, demon droppings, serpents and scorpions, demon droppers, demon missives, fledgling and experienced, including all who afflict inside of the body and those who control the affliction from outside of the body, and including all those who have been connected to me through the sins I have confessed.  In the victorious name of Jesus Christ the Son of God you are all bound and marked, and that mark says "I am captured by Jesus Christ the Son of God," and all of you so bound and marked you leave from wherever you are and go immediately to that place that God has assigned you to await God's final eternal judgment.  And when you get there you will wait for God's final eternal judgement.  In Jude 6:  "And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness, until the judgment of the great day."  In the victorious name of Jesus Christ the Son of God, I command you all to leave from wherever you are and go immediately to that place that God has assigned you and when you get there, you will wait for God's final eternal judgment.  AMEN

Repeat a few times (at least three), the demons do not believe that you know what you are saying. The demons are liars and will lie to themselves that the command is not meant for them even though they fit the description in the command.  Repeat the command until you know that God's will is done and that Jesus Christ the Son of God, who has overcome the world, is Lord of all.

Important - A prayer of thanks

After casting out the demons, talk to God again.  Thank God for his loving kindness and willingness to redeem us from all of our sins.  God will blot out our sins and put them away from us as far as the east is from the west.  I know that my redeemer liveth. (Job 19:25) Also repeat the affirmation as written at the end of Method 2.

Method 2

Prayer of Bartemaeus

1) Put on the armour of God (as in method 1).

2) Say the Affirmation (as in method 1) to point out that you worship God Almighty and only Him do you serve.

3) Say the command to bind Satan (as in method 1)

The second method for the confession of sins is to say the prayer of blind Bartemaeus. The background story is in Mark 10:46-52.

And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son if Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.  And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called.  And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.  And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.  And Jesus answering and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.  And Jesus said unto him, Go they way; thy faith hath made thee whole.  And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

4) Make a list as in method 1

5) On your knees, pray the prayer of Bartimaeus.

"Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me, a sinner."

6) Continue praying this line until you get a response from Jesus.  Eventually Jesus will say something like

"What wilt that I should do unto thee?"

7) At that point you tell Jesus that you have sins in your life (remember the list) and confess them to Jesus and ask to be forgiven for all the sins and association with evil spirits.  Jesus will say something like

"As you have asked, so it is."

8) Then thank Jesus for his loving kindness and great mercy. And say AMEN

This method of confession is excellent especially for Christians who know Jesus.  It does not take the evil spirits out of our realm so they might infect us again, but it is a good way of getting rid of past sins.

When you are happy about your connection line to God it is time to move on.  The people who went to be baptised by John the Baptist were people who cared about their spiritual cleanliness, and they wanted to be cleansed before they met up with God Almighty.  At the time these people did not know that they would be meeting up with the Son of God. People who go to Church move through much of the redemption practice throughout the Church year. But many people who have illness do not go to Church and yet I am sure that they would like to feel good about themselves before they ask God for healing. The Trinity that is: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are the only ones who can bring us healing and John the Baptist told that it is a good idea to get cleaned up before asking for anything.

Talk to God and repeat the Affirmation

AMEN.

   Ref: Matt: 4:10,  Luke 4:8  Exodus 20:3-6

After doing the simple exercise above you will be in a place where you are ready to meet up with God Almighty and His son Jesus Christ. John the Baptist knew that Jesus Christ was coming and he went out and exhorted people to get ready for the great gift that God Almighty had for his people in His son Jesus Christ.  God Almighty said "I am the Lord God that healeth thee" and Jesus Christ the Son of God brought that healing into the world and continues to heal us all today.

In the chapters on Cancer, AIDS and Pain you are asked to do this preliminary exercise of cleansing from sins because it really seems to be a cleansing of the inroads into the body, to clean away past sins that are lining the way for sickness to enter the body.  Of course cleansing of sin is good for people at any time and in any condition of health.
